Iris’ candy land party was a HUGE hit! There were lots of people and lots of little kids, and Lots and LOTS of candy!!

This is Cupcake Commons- the first part of the Candy Land game. Each child got to grab one on their way through the game! They are little Play-Doh’s!

Tootsie Roll Mountain. Grab a few!

Gummy Hills- each child got a handfull of gummy bears and put them in a decorated jar. The jars were from baby food; the lids were spraypainted purple; and I glued strips of scrapbook paper on each jar.

Peppermint Pass, where everyone got a nice handful!

The water table was transformed into Licorice Lagoon!

M&Ms were made out of colored cardboard, and I cut out little “m’s” that I glued on the front. We hung them from all the small trees. Iris saved them afterwards.

Lollypop Woods- I spraypainted flat, circular styrofoam green, and stuck lollypops in them and let the kids grab one on their trip through Candy Land! The centerpiece on the back of the table is a glass vase with bubblegum and cupcake lollypops.

This is my masterpiece- the Candy Castle!!! The two sides were boxes from our foster kids’ new dressers. The middle box was just one I found in the garage. I cut a draw bridge out of the middle, where all of the kids’ candy bags were waiting for them. The bags were decorated with swirls and designs, and I painted the first letter of all their names on the front. The top of the castle is lined with jellybeans and ice cream cones. The wondows are made out of fabric and foil. The red strip across the pink fabric is licorice! The silver decorations across the middle “box” are Hershey Kisses. I made them by cutting the tops off of water bottles and covering them in foil. M&M’s are on either side of the draw bridge and Nerds boxes are hanging from the drawbridge opening. The pink flags are felt glued to dowel rods (with a gummy bear in the upper corners!)
All of the signs were made using tie-dyed paper from Wal-Mart. And I used alphabet stickers for the words.

Iris is wearing a shirt I made for her! I used iron on lollypops, and I stenciled her name with heavy cardboard and pink acrylic paint! And she can still wear it after her party is all over!

This is the wreath I made for the front door using streamers, ballons and LOTS of candy!

The cake looked awesome!! It turned out way better than I expected! The actual cake was Pillsbury Fun-fetti that Iris picked out. I used food coloring to make green frosting, and lined the front side with gummy bears. I used Starburst pieces as the game squares, and at the end was a small candy castle made out of graham crackers and blue frosting. I put sprinkles on the top and marshmallows along the parts where the graham crackers connected so they would all stick a little better. Which they did, thank goodness. I put frosting on ice cream cones and put sprinkles on them. (yes, there are sprinkles EVERYWHERE!) And the rest of the cake is decorated with smarties, tootsie rools, lollypops, MORE SPRINKLES, peppermints and jellybeans! And it was YUMMO!

Daddy and Iris, and kiddos off to get their candy!

She got overwhelmed when we started singing happy birthday!

But she was fine when we stopped singing. lol

Aunt Ashley and Mommy lovin’ on the birthday girl!
