Easter Eggs in the Grass {cookies}

I GASPED when I saw this recipe over at Made and I couldnt wait to try it! Iris and I spent yesterday morning baking 6 batches of these delicious cookies, and though mine didnt turn out as green as I hoped, you get the idea. Plus, now it resembles Texas grass a little better.

I put these in some Easter baskets with a fun little tag, and delivered them to some very special ladies this morning. Eat up!!

They traveled well in the car too. No meltage. Iris snuck a couple, but other than that, they all made it in one piece.

Dr. Seuss’ Birthday party!

Today, Brandi and Amber came over with their girls, and we had a Dr. Seuss birthday celebration!

We started by reading The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham.

Then we made green eggs!

Then, even though I didn’t have the book, we made green oobleck! The recipe I had called for 1 cup of water, 1 1/2 cups of cornstarch and green food coloring. But I found that I ended up using a half a bag of cornstarch to make the consistency work. It was a MESS! But the kids loved it!

We also made Cat in the Hat cookies! I baked regular round sugar cookies, and each kid got about 3 large marshmallows. We piped red icing in between the cookie and first marshmallow and every layer in between each marshmallow. They were tall cookies and they leaned a bit, but we still thought they were perfect.

Of course, what is a birthday party without red icing all over our faces?!!!

Monster Cupcakes

Ingredients:
cake mix
chocolate icing
candy corn
cupcake icing
M&M’s

To make things a little easier, I just used a mix from the store to make the cupcakes.

Then I covered each of them with chocolate icing.

I put the candycorn across the top as hair. Then I squirted a couple of blobs for each eye. I pushed M&Ms in the center of the icing blob, and laughed. They aren’t as scary as they are adorable!
