Flowerpot Thimble Necklace

So for the month of June, I was matched up with someone from another part of the world, and we emailed each other back and forth to learn a little about each other. I found out that my partner loved gardening and sewing. Dont we all?? 

I found an idea a couple of months ago on The Wind and the Sail and I thought this would be the perfect chance to make it!

I LOOOOVE the thimble necklace in the example, but I was worried that the pins would be too long and possibly come out while wearing it. And I love the green grass but I didnt want it to come out of the thimble.

So for mine, I cut my pins down to be a bit shorter, and I put the string inside the thimble a little bit. You cant see it unless you are up close, but I think it will last longer around children. I loved it so much I made one for myself!

I hope she doesnt read this before I send it to her!!

Snow White Trivia

Since we watch Snow White anywhere from 5-15 times a day, I thought I would do a little research on the person behind the voice of Snow White. She is, afterall, a HUGE part of our lives.

Her name was Adriana Caselotti, and as beautiful as her singing voice was, she never appeared in any other films, as part of her contract with Disney! CRAZY RIGHT?! No one would do that these days! She did a lot of appearances singing some of her Snow White songs, and she made a couple of guest appearances on talk shows. Walt Disney’s words were something like, “I’m sorry, but that voice can’t be used anywhere. I don’t want to spoil the illusion of Snow White.” Oh. Snap.

She made a total of $970 from making the movie. I would have wanted that per DAY for such a classic movie, but thats me.

She died at the age of 80, but sang “Some day my prince will come” well into her 70′s!

Oh!! And I searched all over for this! She had an uncredited roll in “It’s a Wonderful Life” while George Bailey is praying. You have to listen very closely, as she is singing in the background, with another man, but her voice is unmistakable!
